Dixon

Dixon’s early years were rough. A small long-haired dachshund mix, he was discarded as a puppy and then temporarily adopted into a chaotic home where the other dogs picked on him and broke his ribs. He was very timid and fearful when he first came to his forever home but he became a living example of the healing power of a stable home, patience, safe relationships and the determination to overcome adversity. He learned how to work as a therapy dog from Hannah and was a favorite with children and special needs clients who visited our offices. His peaceful, happy nature and enthusiasm in doing “tricks for treats” brought a smile to both clients and staff alike.

“The greatest healing therapy is friendship and love.”
— Hubert H. Humphrey
